Helping family shouldn't mean
risking yours.
Sequel structures guarantor loans and multi-generational lending properly, so helping someone you love doesn't quietly put your own position at risk.
Whether you're guaranteeing a first home for your kids or planning finance across generations, we make sure everyone understands exactly what they're signing up for.
Helping family is generous.
It should also be safe.
Guarantor loans and family lending arrangements go wrong when nobody structures an exit. These are the situations we see most.
Guarantor exposure
A guarantee can tie up your own borrowing capacity and property for years. We structure it with a clear release plan from day one.
No exit strategy
Too many guarantor loans have no plan for coming off the guarantee. We set the milestones before you sign, not after.
Gifted deposits
A cash gift can affect both parties' finances differently depending on how it's structured. We set it up properly for tax and lending purposes.
Multi-generational lending
Helping with a deposit, co-borrowing, or planning for inheritance all interact with each other. We look at the whole family picture, not just one loan.
"The best guarantor loans are the ones with a plan to end. We build that in before anyone signs anything."
We take the files other brokers pass on — and everything in between.
Complex file or straightforward one — refinance, investment, first home or the harder cases — every application gets the same rigour, which means we know exactly which of our 40+ lenders will actually say yes.
Specialist, not generalist
Self‑employed, defaults, ATO debt and career breaks are every day for us — right alongside refinances, investment loans and first home buyers.
Strategy before paperwork
We map your full picture and tell you what's realistic before a single form goes near a lender.
40+ lender panel
Including specialist and non‑bank lenders who price your file properly instead of by a checkbox.
A straight answer, fast
You'll know what's actually possible before you hand over a single document — no runaround.
Meet Adam,
Lending Director.
Adam started Sequel after a career as a professional athlete, where income never looked like a regular payslip and contracts changed year to year. Being taken seriously by a bank meant something different when your file didn't look like everyone else's.
He's been self-employed since 2017 and knows firsthand what it's like to run a business, carry a mortgage, and still not fit neatly into a lender's checklist. These days he's a husband and dad to two boys — and he built Sequel to be the broker he wishes he'd had: someone who reads the whole picture before deciding what's possible.
"I've sat on the other side of the desk, explaining my own file to a lender. I built Sequel so no one has to explain themselves twice."
Four steps to a straight answer.
No paperwork to start, no credit check, no judgement about how you got here.
Tell us your situation

What the check gives you
An instant, honest read — not a generic checklist.
- An estimated borrowing power, calculated on the spot
- A straight fit rating — strong, workable, or needs a closer look
- Built for self-employed, defaults, ATO debt and career-break files
- No credit check, zero cost, zero obligation
Illustrative example — your result will be based on what you tell us.
Takes about 60 seconds. Indicative estimate only — not a credit approval.
You're probably wondering.
A family member offers equity in their own property as additional security, which can help the borrower avoid lenders mortgage insurance or borrow with a smaller deposit. We structure it so the guarantor's exposure is limited and time-bound.
Once the borrower has enough equity — through repayments or property growth — the guarantee can usually be removed. We set target milestones from the start so this isn't left open-ended.
It depends on your situation. A gift is a one-off with no ongoing exposure; a guarantee can help more but ties up the guarantor's own borrowing capacity. We'll talk through which suits your family.
The guarantor's security is only at risk for the guaranteed portion, not the whole loan. We make sure this is clearly understood by everyone before anything is signed.
Most lenders prefer parents, but some will consider other family members depending on the situation. We know which lenders are flexible here.
No. The form above is just information you share with us — nothing is pulled from a credit bureau. A formal credit check only happens later, once you've decided to move forward with a specific lender. Talking to us costs nothing and touches nothing on your file.
We call within 24 hours of receiving your details, or the next business day if you get in touch over the weekend. Prefer a set time? Let us know on the call and we'll lock one in.
